    Dear Sir,
I intend to sit P7 in September 2016 and since sg sep16-jun17 will be applicable, I wonder if text book (kaplan) related to sep15-june16 could be used? Although new syllabus guide mention few changes, whether these are enough to justify waiting for new additions?

    Thank you

I doubt it very much. Read up on the new format for audit reports but that’s the big one from what I can see.

Otherwise you should be ok with June 2016 material revision kit / exam kit

    Thank you sir,

I read the changes in new syllabus guide and they didn’t mention any changes in format of audit report, so it will be okay to use june 2016 text?

And are you going to update open tuition notes for new changes?

I found this in the list of examinable documents for P7 September 2016

    ISA 700 (Revised)

I suggest that you look at it!

I am in the process of wring a new Audit Reports chapter for the P7 course notes

    Thank you sir,

You are right about ISA 700.

Do you think it is a good idea to download revised ISAs from IFAC website and learn from them rather than text books?

I am looking forward to read updated Open Tuition notes.

I believe that the Deloitte website IASPLUS is a good source and summarises the IAS / IFRS nicely

Of course you should have an up-to-date revision kit / exam kit but I’m not convinced about a study text

Thank you very much for your help sir,

I bought both book and kit for June 16, (because suppliers are saying new version will not be available until August 16, which is too late for September sitting).

You are saying that I should have up to date exam kit, what changes I should be looking in new version of exam kit, is it only format of reports or other important changes?

I am sorry for taking too much of your time, but in my city there is always a problem of books arriving very late and if I wait for latest addition I might end up with no books at all.

I believe that the updated audit reports are the only really major change so you should be fine with June 2016 and the revised ISA 700
