Does anyone know if there will be any significant changes in the syllabus for F6 next year? If there are changes when should i buy my F6 kit from BPP to make sure any updates etc are included?
Thank youDecember 13, 2013 at 11:58 am #152885it is not so much the syllabus, but tax rules that change every year.
So all textbooks/kits are valid for 1 year only..
All 2014 materials are based on Financial Act 2013 (so look for FA 2013 on the cover)

December 25, 2013 at 8:14 pm #153458When will the OT notes and lectures get updated for paper F5 for june 2014 exams? I see that the BPP book for 2014 exam sessions are already available.
@loloacca, mate what do you mean by tax rule changing? Will the OT video lectures need to be redone or something? Or we can use the current ones and just adapt it to the FA 2013 rules? Thanks π
December 25, 2013 at 8:16 pm #153459F6 notes will be on line in Jan/Feb
F6 Lectures will be re recorded and on line later Hopefully in March
December 26, 2013 at 8:25 am #153462I am self studying and was planning to take F6 for June 2014 Exams as if ever I was unlucky, I could re sit for it in Dec 2014 exams but given that the lectures won’t be up until march(which will leave me with only 2-3 months for preparation), I’m thinking of taking another paper.
I’ll then take the F6 exam for dec 2014 session as when I start preparing in july for december exams, all the notes and lectures for F6 would be suitable. But I’m afraid that if I screw up in the dec 2014 exams for F6, how much will I have to re learn for the June 2015 exams?
Any advice plz? π
Thanks.
February 9, 2014 at 8:43 pm #157442How can you say that 2-3 months preparation is not enough time that absolutely stupid, it’s plenty of time…. Can’t believe that has just been said
February 13, 2014 at 5:48 pm #158619@pailjaco, to say the person is stupid because he is unable to cover all the material in three months is rude and without thought. Some of who are studying self study and barely have an hour a day to prepare for exams. so until you know a persons situation it is rather unfair to be so judgemental.

May 7, 2014 at 12:50 pm #167767hi all,
i have been told by a tutor at bpp that the following areas are being taken out of the syllabus for the june sittings – can anyone confirm?
1) changes of accounting date
2) incorporation relief
3) Overseas aspects of corporation tax β this means chapter 24 from your course notes has been completely removed. So, if that is the case, I assume that there is no “double taxation” and no questions on electing to be exempt from profit of overseas companies etc?
if that is the case, then great.
