Change in use of property: from Office to Investment

Hello! Can someone please spell this out for me?

1. If a property changes from ‘office building’ to ‘investment property’ part-way through the year, what has to be done to account for the change correctly?

2. If a building is part office, part rented-out, how is that treated vis a vis depreciation and valuation?
