Sir is chairperson and chairman the same thing?
Yes. Chairman is now often regarded as sexist; so is chairwoman. To avoid this it is becoming more common in to use the terms ‘chairperson’ or simply ‘chair’. The latest version of the UK Corporate Governance Code now uses ‘chair’ where, until recently, it used ‘chairman’
