    Hello,

I’m trying to do the June 2012 past paper and I can’t figure out the answer to question 3a. I don’t get how you calculate the centered moving averages in the answer. Please can someone explain how to calculate them.

    Thanks.

The centred moving averages are given to you in the question.
If you are meaning how did they forecast the average for the future, what the answer does it calculate the average increase in the moving average per quarter, and then forecast assuming it continues to increase at the same amount per quarter.

HOWEVER, do remember that calculations on time series will not now be asked in exams.
