CFO is concerned about accounts receivable trunover ratio. the company offers its customers 3% discount for settlement within 10 days or full payment in 30 days.
which of the following strategies would most likely improve the recvable turnover
A. using invoice discounting
B. changing customer terms to 1% for settlement within 10 days
C. entering into a factoring agreement
D. changing customer terms to 3% discount for settlement within 20 days
so the AR needs to be reduced to improve the ratio.
the answer is C.
but i am trying to do the math on the numbers given. how can i compute the AR with the given numbers in the main question and the options B and D?
i cd only calculate simple annual interest rates by
1. 3/97 x 365/20
B. 1/99 x 365/20
D. 3/97 x 365/10
are these of any help?
if the information is irrelevant to the question, can pls point out why? because just didnt get this question
thank u
You do not need any calculations.
Reducing the discount from 3% to 1% for paying in 10 days will not attract more people to take the discount!
Charging customers will not get more people to pay faster.
Giving the same discount but letting people take longer to pay will certainly not get them to pay sooner!
oh. common sense!!
thank u ..:)
You are welcome 🙂
