    Hi Mike

i just wanted to ask for clarification. yesterday on this message board Anniedwoa asked if the case names need to be learned for the second part of the CBE, however I think you answer states that they are not required for the whole exam. Have I understood correctly?

    Thank you.

I’m going to put it in capitals this time, just so that there’s no misunderstanding!

THERE IS NO NEED TO KNOW CASE NAMES FOR THE F4 COMPUTER BASED EXAM, NEITHER THE FIRST PART NOR THE SECOND PART

THERE IS NO NEED TO KNOW CASE NAMES FOR ANY PART OF THE F4 COMPUTER BASED EXAM

(For the paper-based exam, it is expected that written answers will be supported by reference to cases but, even then, there’s no need to quote the actual name of the case. It will be sufficient simply to say something along the lines of “In a decided case involving a horse …”

The cases establish principles and you must know those principles

Those principles tend to be easier to remember when there’s a story behind them

But (and here we go again!) THERE IS NEITHER THE NEED, NOR THE OPPORTUNITY, TO BRING CASE NAMES INTO THE F4 CBE SO THERE IS NO NEED TO KNOW CASE NAMES FOR THE F4 COMPUTER BASED EXAM, FIRST PART, NOR SECOND PART

    Is that clear enough?
