See FAQs here https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/help/exam-sessions.html under “What happens if I enter an exam and then can no longer take it?”
“… It is not possible for you to withdraw an exam entry after the standard entry closing date. … If you are unable to attend your exam and feel that there are exceptional reasons for this then you can contact ACCA providing details of these reasons. This must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents at which point it may be considered for an exam withdrawal.

“Exam withdrawals will only be considered under the most extenuating circumstances, and where supported by documentary evidence; minor illnesses or normal expected workloads cannot be considered. Any supporting documents should be sent to students@accaglobal.com by 11 December for the December session.

“If you are granted a withdrawal, you should not attend the examination under any circumstances; in the event that you do so, you will be liable to pay additional fees.

“Please note the decision by the Exams team is final.”

I cannot second guess ACCA’s response but if the extenuating circumstance clearly affects only one exam then I presume withdrawal would only apply to that exam.

A “no show” is a “no show” for that exam – you would not be cancelled from an exam because you failed to turn up for an earlier exam.

Yes – ACCA will not withdraw you from a later exam because you failed to turn up for an earlier exam.

If you haven’t already done so I suggest you follow the link at the article starred at the top of the F7/FR forum “Essential reading for the FR exam”.

There are numerous other sources of tips including the ACCA’s study support guide and examiner’s reports – all of which you will find here https://www.accaglobal.com/my/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f7.html

Can you explain to me how does technical articles help to pass exams

If you have a comprehensive ACCA Approved Textbook the technical articles (as opposed to exam technique articles) will not be so important – but for someone with an old textbook or no access to lectures these articles will clearly supplement their knowledge and understanding.

Many articles are written “by a member of the examining team” meaning that they are trying to covey key messages about a topic to students so they understand what the examiner is looking for in the exam. The examiner’s reports and exam technique articles are similarly provided to help students pass first time. As your question suggests that you haven’t read any such articles – with the exam so close it’s rather too late to worry about.

But if there is ONE ARTICLE THAT YOU MUST READ it is the one linked to the starred post “How to score marks in AA – essential guidance” at the top of this forum

My advice is unchanged – seem my first post above. If you have a positive PCR test for example or otherwise need to self isolate, I would have thought that ACCA will allow you to defer but you will have to contact ACCA without delay to confirm. https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html

    Hello,

One of my friend is doing an ACCA exam on September. But due to some problems she can’t do it on September.

    Can she cancel the exam?

And, if she request and cancel the exam, will it be considered as first attempt???

    Hi,

Would also like to know if it’s possible to withdraw from an exam after the standard closing deadline? Is it possible to defer? Not for any particular extenuating circumstance, just not ready to take it?

    Thanks,

@nanthinissharma@gmail.com – I’m very sorry I didn’t see your post from nearly 2 weeks ago. Your first question is answered in my original response:

Kim Smith wrote:See FAQs here https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/help/exam-sessions.html under “What happens if I enter an exam and then can no longer take it?”

A cancellation/withdrawal is not an attempt.

The deadline for exam withdrawal for the September 2022 session is 21 September https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/student/getting-started/important-dates.html

    @nick695 – short answer – NO

You will not be able to recover the exam fee/apply it to a later exam session.

hello @keymaster. Its Hammad here. I wanted to ask that do ACCA consider pas lt withdrawls history to grantvthe next withdrawl. For example I was a covid 19 suspect in september session so I dint attnded to follow the guidelines of ACCA and my withdrawl got approved. But unfortunately in this attempt I am suffering frok severe denguee. Its very difficult to even sit in these situations because you got tired. Do withdrawl hustory matters?

Hello @imhmdshk – no it shouldn’t matter – especially if you have a medical note to confirm illness as the reason for withdrawal.
