January 18, 2016 at 8:01 pm #295976Yes you can! Federico – Kaplan is fine for foundation level, however for the Professional papers Bpp texts/exam kits are far superior. I failed P6 using Kaplan, switched to Bpp and stayed with them for the remainder – now an affiliate!

Hi Gentiana,
The link for Acca registration is: https://www.accaglobal.com/ubcs/en/qualifications/apply-now.html
You will then have to fill in the online form and register and then after a couple of weeks you will be a student.
After that you can login into a portal called myacca which then allows you to book exams.
You can self study using this website.
I hope this helps, but if you want to know anything else please quote me.Many Regards,
Samir.

Hi Samir,
Thank you so much for your prompt response to my question. I have a lot of questions, if you do not bother 🙂 Are studing Acca? How much it cost to apply for Acca in that link you sent to me? And how much cost per exam? Does these exams are online? On the end will I get any diploma or certificate? Does this Acca program recognise all countries?
And is this level 9 as master degree? Please tell me about your experience is this good to study or not?Best regards,

GentianaHi Gentiana, it been a while since I registered but I will answer what I can recall.
Yes I am studying Acca, currently on F9 and have done all the other fundamentals, I.e F1-F8.
Initial registration fee? The initial fee is £79 and then £85 a year as an annual subscription.
There are three tiers for exams
Knowledge stage: F1, F2, F3
Skills stage: F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9
Professional stage: P1, P2, P3, P4-P7Exam fee? Depends on the stage of exams you are on, all given in Sterling (£)
For the knowledge stage the fees at the moment are:
Early entry: 72, standard fee: 76 and late: 231
For the skills stage the fees at the moment are:
Early entry: 93, standard fee: 97 and late: 257
For the professional stage the fees at the moment are:
Early entry: 110, standard fee: 116 and late: 277At the moment you can see the first 9 online and all the papers written. The first four exams you can do online at a centre throughout the year. But, the other exams are done on the second week of March, June, September and December every year.
You can get various certificates at different stages throughout the qualification, I.e F1-f3 gets you a certificate. The first 9 exams can get you a degree when combined with the Bsc Oxford Brookes university programme.
it is said that the first 9 exams are equivalent to degree level and the final 5 ( called the professional stage) are equivalent to the masters level of difficulty.
I hope this helps,
Many regards,

The exams are a mix of multiple choice and longer written questions. Each module is different in the mix of both these elements but they are making the exams more computer friendly so I would not worry about that.
Many regards,
Samir.August 4, 2016 at 7:11 am #331305That was quite inspiring and I have read it at the right time when I was wondering whether some papers at the P level should be done with lectures and considering my tight budget!!!!! Thanks Alkemist. I need some more guidance on the option papers to take. Am doing P3 this September 2016. I have sat and passed P1 and P2. Please advise,I want to do the options in December and March.
August 11, 2016 at 7:36 am #332650Is learning from this site enough to pass the acca exams?
August 22, 2016 at 12:26 pm #334514what made you leave chhemistry?
is it a worthless degree in terms of job oppurtunitiesJanuary 4, 2017 at 7:14 pm #365102I’ve also decided to self-study. I’ve created a blog that I will use to write notes and (hopefully) keep myself accountable over the next two years or so. My first exam after a long break is F4 GLO. I used Open Tuition previously with much success, so I know how important they will be to my studies.
February 5, 2017 at 4:34 pm #371197@abdullah to answer your question, it was the realisation that as a chemist I would forever be at the mercy of business executives whose main concern is the bottom line and who would be inclined to first cut R&D funding, since many view this as not making a contribution to profits. I figured, by learning how business individuals think and by making the right connections on the inside, I would be better placed to lead an R&D focused organisation through budgetary challenges.
February 18, 2017 at 8:28 am #373001Hello, I just recently started doing my ACCA. I am 18 years old and I came from a science background.
I have taken F1 and F2 till June as I am aiming to clear both papers by that time.ACCA at first, when I heard about the job opportunities, I was ready to give it a go.
Now that I started it, I face difficulty to understand the text because it used the terms I’ve never came across before. I spend hours on internet searching the meaning of words/sentences and hence I feel it would be really difficult for me. Please help.
May 28, 2017 at 6:29 pm #388643Hi Alkemist!
Hope you’re doing well.
Just wanted to ask you about the application process for CGA/CPA Canada.
I’m on my last ACCA exam and was wondering if I can start with the application process for the CGA/CPA Canada. Since I do not live in Canada, CPA Canada said I should contact CPA British Columbia. I have emailed them twice but havn’t got any response.
I was wondering if it’s possible to apply for membership whilst Preparing for my last ACCA exam so that I could save time in the application process? I could then submit my final ACCA result to CPA Canada once I finish my last ACCA exam to follow up on the application process.
Did you also have to contact CPA Canada British Columbia? I don’t know who to conract anymore as I have not heard from them and CPA Canada insist I should contact CPA Canada British Columbia.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon Alkemist.
Best regards,
KyleMay 28, 2017 at 6:31 pm #388644By the way I’m sorry for posting it here.. I just don’t know how to reach Alkemist..

what kind of terms are you referring to?
in my experience, that is a lot of what accountancy is, learning the terminology. i think that accountancy is like a language. i look up a lot of terms when studying too, however I am surprised you are spending hours on it. Also F1 is very general, so maybe you are doing it more so then. I think it should get easier on F2 etc.
isn’t studying science similar- learning lots of definitions etc?
October 16, 2017 at 12:20 pm #411845Hi to all who wants to know if one can do self study and the answer in yes. I cleared all exams with self study in a year time that too being a married with less than a year old child, 9 to 6 full time job and no study leave during exam, just leave on exam day. If I can do it then anybody can do it. It is just a matter of hard work, sincerity and dedication. If you study for at least two hours everybody then success would follow you. Taking two hours out everybody is tough but believe it is manageable.
I am so much thankful to open tuition for excellent study material. Keep your study simple, try to understand concepts and ideas. Go through all lecture videos and attempt each and every questions on question bank, read technical articles on ACCA website. I used Kaplan question bank. Make a short and simple notes and do not make it complicated. Give you best and you will succeed. If you get stuck in any topic, leave it and come back later. My marks in all paper as below:
F5 Performance Management Pass 75 December 2016
F6UK Taxation (United Kingdom) Pass 80 December 2016
F7 Financial Reporting Pass 81 September 2016
F8 Audit and Assurance Pass 53 December 2016
F9 Financial Management Pass 74 March 2017
P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics Pass 79 September 2017
P2INT Corporate Reporting (International) Pass 68 June 2017
P3 Business Analysis Pass 65 June 2017
P4 Advanced Financial Management Pass 55 September 2017
P6UK Advanced Taxation (United Kingdom) Pass 66 March 2017Only subject which I found extremely hard while attempting exam was P4, this subject is very interesting and enjoyable but exam was very tough. My advice to all would be only choose this subject if you have liking towards it otherwise dont opt this. My best wishes to all who wants to start ACCA journey.
Thank you so much Open Tuition, you guys are great.
