Hello, sorry if this is a silly question but i’ve not actually sat my ACCA exams yet. I’ve completed a Maths degree previously and was just wondering if when answering questions involving probability distributions will I be penalized in MA for using a calculator to answer the questions instead of the probability distributions?
Or do they not see your workings because it’s a CBE? And if this is the case, will it ever be an issue in future paper based exams?
Many thanks
Damian
You will not be penalised in any exam for using a calculator instead of the tables provided.
However most calculators that calculate the normal distribution figures will display characters as well as numbers. Calculators that display any text are not allowed to be used in ACCA exams.
