I will be attempting my first acca paper in June (FR). I wanted to know if the casio fx-82ex classwiz scientific calculator is allowed in the exams.
This is taken from ACCA’s Guide to Session CBEs:
“CALCULATOR
An on-screen calculator will be available,
and students can choose between a
standard or scientific calculator.
Students are also allowed to bring their
own calculator to the exam, provided
it does not have the facility to store or
display text.”
I am not sure if this calculator can store or display text. I only know that it is non-programmable and has a natural textbook display.
If you haven’t bought this calculator you would be better buying the same texas model as in the CBE software – then you have only one model to become familiar with. If you already have the calculate presumably you can find a user guide to confirm that it cannot store or display text.
I already bought it and Texas is not available locally here.
When I searched online I found that a later model of this calculator (Casio fx-991ex) doesn’t have the ‘ability to store text or mathematical formulae’. So I believe this would not be able to do so either.
This means I would be able to use it in the exam, right?
“… provided it does not have the facility to store or display text.” Yes
Ok, thank you Sir.
