    Dear Ken

There are so many varieties of calculations to do in an exam!!!!!

so how does one work out, what’s the best way to do a calculation??

I know that if one gives a figure and explains it – its call method marking- that I can do now.

eg – Q gunnymead or similar Qs – there’s so much to do, so much info given, that the brain goes wowwww, especially in an exam situation & time constraint too, etc

So please advise what is the best way to do calculations as one needs to remember ratios & other formulas etc

    Many thanks
    Kindest Regards

    Naomi

Questions come in all shapes and sizes with many different requirements and different data supplied. It is not possible to recommend an approach which will be best in all cases……except:

1 Remember that every candidate will be faced with the same problems.

2 Take your time and think about what you want to calculate.

3 Proceed as best you can, remembering that candidates fail primarily because they cannot do the simpler and more straightforward calculations; failure is not usually caused because candidates cannot do more sophisticated calculations (frankly, most can’t).

4 Have confidence in your own ability.
