If a person (company, sole trader, or partnership) uses a different name (business name) other than his own (corporate name) to carry business, it is required to:
    (a) state its name, registered number and registered address on all business letters ( including emails) invoices, receipts, written orders for goods or services and written demands for payment of debts.
(b)to display its name and address in a prominent position in any business premises to which its customers and suppliers have access.
    (c) on request of any person to whom it does business to give notice of its name and address.

My question is in parts (a) to (c) is the name referring to corporate name or business name?

Both! If it’s a company trading under a name different than the company name, then …………………….

If it’s a partnership trading under a name different than the firm’s name (business name) then …………….

    OK?

Its not very clear, but I guess both names should be used. But in part (a) to (c), it referred to the corporate name, hence both names.

If ABC Limited carries on a business under the trading / business name of “Letters”, then outside its place of business (typically in BIG letters) it will advertise its presence as “Letters”

But, if you look closely, there should be a plaque / sign outside its front door that says “ABC Limited trading as “Letters””

    Better?
