    Hi everyone,
I hope some of you might help me a little bit. I am 1 exam away from completing my ACCA qualification. After this I would like to pursue either BSc (Hons) with OBU or MSc in Professional Accounatncy with University of London. I’m a little bit confused about what would be the better option – do BSc (Hons) first and then MSc or straight away go into MSc? If I went straight for MSc could it be seen as a bad thing, I mean if I skipped BSc? Could it be seen as a bad career move in a sense that it’s skipping a step and isn’t gradual?
I hope you understand what I mean and hope some of you might share your experiences?
    Thank you 🙂

You are too late for OBU https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/oxford-brookes-bsc-hons-in-applied-accounting.html – “This provides an opportunity for students to obtain a degree while studying towards the ACCA Qualification”

A professional accountancy qualification is a higher level qualification than a BSc/BA.

Unless you’re too young to be in full-time work you might be better getting some practical experience and then getting another professional qualification in a specialism – like tax or internal audit – if there is a field you would like to work in.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I haven’t finished my final (professional) exam yet and wouldn’t go for BSc before I do, but I am opted in the program so have the option to do it if I want to.
I have worked as an accountant for almost 10 years now (in a few different businesses, not practise). Just thought if it would make more sense to go for BSc or MSc in terms of how my future employers might view that I have skipped BSc, for example, if I go for MSc?
Thank you, your advise is appreciated

I would suggest completing the ACCA Qualification and then pursuing the MSc. It would be more valuable to you as well as the fact that by most accounts the MSc program is far better administrated than the OBU program.
