maam this question is there in my kaplan kit, here one of the deficiencies mentioned in the answer is that:

“Overtime reports which detail the amount of overtime worked are sent out quarterly by the payroll department to production supervisors for review.
These reports are reviewed after the payments have been made.
This could result in unauthorised overtime or amounts being paid incorrectly and Bronze’s payroll cost increasing.”

nowhere in the entire question is it stated implicitly or explicitly that payments are made before review by production supervisor.

Yes calculations get done immediately using the clockcard, but then payment is altogether another thing.

    maam your thoughts?

Staff are paid weekly. If I worked overtime in January I would expect to be paid it in the following week. Especially if I worked overtime regularly, I would NOT expect to have to wait for 3 months to be paid (!)

It doesn’t say that the quarterly reports are going out for any “approval” – which would be too late – as already paid.

ma’am are you referring to just overtime bonus being paid weekly, or even the staff’s normal salary is paid weekly?

and should we always assume so the case, unless the question states otherwise?

Overtime will be paid at the same time as normal/basic time. In the version of Bronze I found on the internet it was specified “employees are paid weekly, with approximately 80% being paid by bank ….”

It used to be the case that “salary” would mean monthly and “wage” weekly – BUT that has changed – and for many reasons there may be no distinction – just a “payroll” for all staff and all paid monthly. That said, in the real world, people may be paid weekly – or even daily for casual labour.

If relevant to answering the question, it should specify.
