Is there any difference between the conventional/ basic break even chart and contribution break even chart? I was going through the Kaplan material just to add more knowledge to what I have learnt from your lectures and notes . Kaplan suggest that we must learn the contribution break even chart . In your lectures, you introduced two graphs ( break even and profit/ volume charts) apart from this particular one in question.

Thanks in advance sir as I anticipate for your response.

Breakeven charts and profit/volume charts are showing different things and both are examinable.

With regard to conventional and contribution breakeven charts, I don’t know what you mean – there is only one type of breakeven chart relevant for the exam (which is what I go through in my lecture)

Thank you sir for your response . I think understood now what was in the book , they sound same.

The multi-product profit-volume chart , are we expecting this to be examined on it APART from the calculations involved ? Because i found that there was a graph on this but complicated . However, i prefer your lectures and notes more than the All ACCA tutor partners put together because you deliberate more on key points. I do not know if i can order for their exam kits only or i have to be buying all available text books, kits because now i library if full of their text books and they are too voluminous .

Secondly, sir, i would prefer also, that you lecture on Financial Reporting than the lecturer i saw. maybe because i am now very used to your tactics and cleared voice when lecturing .

    Salute.
    Iyamu.

    Thank you for your comments.

Because of the introduction of computer based exams, you can no longer be asked to draw a breakeven chart (whether you sit the computer exam or the paper based exam). However you can be asked the calculations and it is possible that a chart could be drawn for you and you are expected to understand it.

The lectures are a complete course, and if you are watching them then you do not really need to use a Study Text. However it is important that you have a current edition of a Revision Kit, because practicing exam standard questions is vital.

Sorry, but I lecture already for 5 of the exam papers. It is not possible for me to lecture for more of them 🙂
