I wish that I could give you an easy trick, but I can’t.

Obviously you have to learn the ‘rules’ (and I assume you are happy with them), but the problem always comes down to the wording and every question is different.
Some (especially the MCQ’s) are very easy if you know the rules. Others (like this one) take quite a while to sort out exactly who is selling what to who, and again every question is different.

Obviously if there is anything in the answer to this question that you have not managed to sort out then ask and I will try and explain, but otherwise it just a question of keep practicing.

Don’t panic too much for the exam (everyone found this question very hard). The marks are not for the final answer, but for your workings and proving you know the ‘rules’. Provided your workings are neat and easy for the marker to follow, and it is clear that you are trying to apply the rules, then you should still be able to get decent marks on part (b).
(And of course you should be able to get most of the marks for part (a) and with the two together get the 10 marks you need to be passing the question 🙂 )
