The following statements have been made about variances in Maple Co.
(1) Any operational variances arising should be a realistic measure of what the causes of the variances
have cost Maple Co.
(2) The causes of the planning variances should not be investigated immediately by the operational
manager in Maple Co.
Which of the above statements is/are true?
1 only
2 only
Neither 1 nor 2
Both 1 and 2
Is it right to choose 1 only?Since it’s written that “planning variances shouldo NOT be investigated”, second is also right, I think…
I had not noticed this mistake, but you are quite correct (and the explanation in BPP’s answer rather ‘proves’ that they should have chosen both 1 and 2 🙂 )
