    Hi,
Does anyone know what controllable & traceable ROI and RI are?
I know how to calculate ROI & RI, but the terms controllable & traceable has thrown me off.
    Thanks

hi navar and hw are u? I think the words attached to the measures have a close link with Responsibility Accounting as a behavioural aspect of Performance Measures.
The principle of Controllability, means the degree of influence a manager has over costs, revenues etc over a period of time. Recognises that resources can either be controllable or uncontrollable. Influence then is both tracing the result or outcome to that particular manager or his department whether or not he has power and authority over such resources i.e control.eg the allocation of H/O overheads to departments is often argued under responsibility accounting as not appropriate as the departments do not have direct influence over such costs.
Consequently, controllable and traceable ROI & RI should simply be those measures which are associated to a particular manager or department as an investment centre.

    Hi mbaw,
After I posted this I did some goodle seaches which lead me to the ACCA website, I now understand with your explanation what its asking for, when you put it like that it does sound very simple.
I noticed that this is associated with F5, which I was exempt from, I think I should invest in buying the book, otherwise I may be stuck again.
    Thanks alot for you help!
