Dear Asad,,
Your advise seems a bit practical for paper p5!! 1st lets introduce my self, My name is Tanvir and i am hung up in ACCA last paper p5 from 2 attempts !!
I did this paper on self study,, the 1st factor for my failure was that i am a bit relaxed as everybody says its ur last paper !!
I found ur thread very interesting, specially you says not to attempt BPP kit, i did attempt this kit twice from Q1 till the end, but i don’t even see a single thing examined in paper,,
I won;t take ur much time, its just that i am from the area, where nobody even knows what ACCA is,,, and i have passed all papers with the strategy that i used for this paper, but it didn’t work for this paper!!
I would really thankful if you provide some more practical guidance on this paper, like which kit to use? and the book that you mentioned in urdu bazar, is it really helpful? the last question i wana ask is that i never studied F5, and some freinds advise me to read this book other says it does’nt matter if u don’t study F5??
If you have time, it would be really helpful if you provide this info !! afterall u have passed this paper with very good marks.

Dear thanks,,
Thanks for ur quick and timely reply,, I am from the frontier province and the place name is mardan, which u might not have heard.
your tips are really helpful,, So you strongly recommend that i go through F5 book and kit completely (BPP or FTC?), i realized this to some extent too, because what i saw in P5 is not a specific syllabus but it seems to be general and collection of small mnagement techniques like learning curve, maximisation equation, expected value and specially budeting techniques..
i have still two months in Exam and so u recommend that i study F5 Completely alonwith kit? and specially which book and kit to use, BPP or FTC?? I have makeup my mind for F5 already and i just need a clear direction to go for it. This time i am making sure that i clear this paper..
Thanks for ur time,, lets say if encounter an issue in P5 what would be the best way and place(Forum) to communicate with you,,,,

ok then lets get ready for the nursery paper, i think thats the only way i can satisfy the examiner as he is nowadays very rude, haha. I have always done BPP too but i cover both Book and Kit, this will be my first attempt for FTC kit and i wish this will work out as BPP does’nt.
I did two year internship in Audit Firm but now leave it as our firm was in crisis, lacking some good clients. Now i am searching for Job, i don’t want but my family stress.
Anyhow thanks for giving much of your time, as u know nowadays in pakistan people only gives advice in return for money, nothing is free
.I will try to cover F5 topics as soon as possible except the one that u advise not to cover. I hope i will find these short management techniques that are often examined in exam and that we often don’t have idea abt it and thats the reason we fail paper on 3 to 4 marks.
Ok Asad i will be touch inshallah, if i encounter any issue i will let you know, or if you wana ask something abt previous papers i will be glad.

October 10, 2010 at 1:21 pm #67418hello Tanvir
i”ve been going through the same issues as yours,as i havent attempted f5 and now facing difficulties in p5.one thing that is helping me now is that im practising past papers of f5 instead of going through the book and wasting time….this is brushing up my basic concepts of p5 and after this i plan to move on to p5.
i suggest u also practise the last few papers of f5 posted on accas website.
i hope it helps inshAllahOctober 10, 2010 at 4:48 pm #67419AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Hi Ashh,,
yes i think you are right as there is very less time remaining in exam now, we should practice F5 past papers instead of going through the whole book. you should also check the suggestions that Muhammad Asad provide in this thread, these are very useful. p5 june 2010 paper was completely different due to inadequate statistical data which make it difficult to comment properly. I would like to tell you that P5 examiner has changed too and he has recently published Sample exam paper which would probably help us to understand examiners approach. - AuthorPosts
