In BPP examkit, This question only asks about Financial and non financial discussion, 5 marks to calculation and 15 to discussion.

In the answers ,The Calculation part only including the simple percentage comparison between current and last year. About revenues , operating profit etc.

There is written in The Exminer’s Review that there are over 30 possible calculations.

Can i Use the profitability ratios , Would they also be given credits ? As these rations Arn’t used in the answer.

And can you please look at the Solution in the book and What do you think how much is enough for Question like this.

Point wise , sever or eight points
But the points ( With headings ) are rather too big in the book.

The answer in the BPP Revision Kit is a reprint of the examiners own answer and is therefore a ‘perfect’ answer.

You do not need to write as much – the examiner always writes more than is expected from students (and always states that this is the case – it is because she knows that students use her answers to learn from).

As far as the calculations are concerned, for 5 marks not many are required. The answer does calculate % changes, revenue before and after discounts, and the operating profit margin. That is quite sufficient.

Profitability ratios would get credit if they were sensible (and were commented on sensibly).
