I’ll start my studies for F9 in Jan 2014. I wanted to ask how’s the nature of F9? Is it like F5? Is it 50–50 balance between discussion and calculation like F5? Or is it just that it a whole computational paper?

Why don’t you watch Introduction to Paper F9 lecture? I think a lot in there explains your questions..
