How will a company be deemed as having a high market share? For example, the market leader is having 27% market share and the company is having 19% market share. Can the company be regarded as having high market share?

    Thanks in advance:)

market share is measured as relative market share which is market share divided by the market share of the largest company. There is no generally agreed view on what high relative market share is. Some people say that the most stable position is for the brand leader to have a share double that of the second brand, and triple that of the third. Brand leaders in this position tend to be very stable and profitable.

    hi guys,

from my studies my understanding is for a company to be said to have a high market share it either has to be the market leader or very close to the market leader.

In the instance above i would personally say 19% is not close enough unles thier are other indications in the question to suggest otherwise.

Anyone correct me if im wrong.

    thanks.
