    Hi Sir

if we want to increase market share are following strategies make sense

Cash cows- we can decrease price to penetrate in market as weak competitors leave the market and this help in increasing our share. OR we acquire other companies in market

Star- we cannot change price of product due to fierce competition but we can do product differentiation so that customers prefer our product.

question mark- product diffrenciation on the basis of design or quality, invest in promotions, advertising.

Cash cows. Yes, here the company already has the highest market share in a declining market. Any remaining competitors could be encouraged to leave by lowering prices (economies of scale shols be possible) or by takeover as you say.

Star. Ferocious competition to stay in top position. Prices can be lowered to attract buyers. Promotion, product updating and special offers can all help a company stay at the top of teh greasy pole.

Question-mark. Yes, your solutions are fine. It is imperative that market share increases so that the company has a viable future in the industry.
