How these values are calculated (4338,2462) in calculating asset beta of retail?
Since the assets under construction relate to property, and the land and buildings were recently revalued, the total value of the property division = 2,297 + 165 = 2,462.
The total value of the company is 425/0.25 shares at $4 each = 6,800.
Therefore the value of the retail division = 6,800 – 2,462 = 4,338
