Whenever we have the bargain purchase (Negative Goodwill) we take it to the P&L as a gain instead of recording it as an intangible asset in group SFP, i want to ask that what will be the journal entry for this bargain purchase?Thanks
(Using made up figures)
Dr Net Assets of sub 100
Cr Investment in sub 80
Cr P&L 20But I wouldn’t write group journals in the exam
