These are correct steps?
1) Identify the problems of the business by reading the question and highlight them
2) Calculate all the ratios from the given non-financial data
3) Discuss the major changes only indicated by ratios
4) Link the changes with scenerio
First could u pls elaborate whether we should calculate all the ratios using non-financial data or only specific relating to the problems of a business?
Secondly, should we have to always link our calculation with scenerio?
It is difficult to answer your first question because it partly depends on exactly what the requirement of the question is and how many marks are available. However it is measures specifically relating to the problems of the business that are the most important.
For your second question – yes – you should always link any conclusions you draw to the scenario.
