Hello
Question 201 from Kaplan revision kit asks “What are the auditors responsibilities in prevention & detection of fraud & Error?”. I can see from the model answer at the back its quite long answer. The question is worth 4 marks. What would you recommend to do for this? Do we need to memorise the whole answer for reproduction in the exam? Would you send time on memorising definitions of areas such like this, materiality, performance materiality etc?
My advice re definitions is as previously https://opentuition.com/topic/audit-risk-definitions and if you refer to this article https://opentuition.com/topic/how-to-score-marks-in-aa-essential-guidance you will see that for 4 marks you need write only 4 relevant points.
This is a professional exam in applied skills – I have told students before – and I repeat again – AA cannot be rote-learnt.
ok thank you. Could you please advise how you would answer a question like this then please?
Any 4 sentences from the answer to Q16(a) of the S/D19 exam downloadable from here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8/past-exam-papers.html would earn 4 marks. This is CLEARLY indicated in the marking scheme on page 9 of the pdf.
Note that it is not necessary to cite ISA 240 in the exam.
