can you please tell me, what does audit evidence consist of? are the accounting records sufficient audit evidence
Accounting records are not sufficient – they might be wrong.
Evidence can come from: analytical procedures, enquiry and confirmation, inspection, observation and reperformance/recalculation.
Every relevant assertion needs evidence to support it.
