I’m aware that there is a difference in the usage of language when it comes to audit procedures and audit evidence.

I’ve gone through the past year papers multiple times and this is what i have concluded.

the language used for audit evidence usually starts with “a copy of this….a copy of that…”..which makes sense because its about obtaining evidence.

and when it comes to audit procedures it usually starts with “review this…review that” which also makes sense.

Do I have the right idea?

Could you please further enlighten me on ways to tackle this question?

p.s: I failed this paper in Dec and i’m retaking it in March.

This is my weakest area and I am working really hard to change that into my strength, so any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Procedures tend to start with a verb (review, obtain, discuss, determine, confirm, ascertain, examine, copy, evaluate, calculate ….to name but a few)

Evidence tends to be asked as “What evidence would you expect to find ….” and here you’re describing what evidence that should have been collected by the members of the audit team during the course of the audit to support the various material figures in the draft financial statements
