Could you please explain the assessment of damages on breach of contract in contract law?
Secondly, what does limitation period mean by in contract law?
The textbook says that basic contract has limitation period of 6 years while special contract has limitation period of 12 years.
The course notes Chapter 4 pages 34 and 35 together with the related lectures explain the measurement and remoteness of damages to you
Limitation period? Under the Statute of Limitations, actions for breach of contract must be brought within 6 years of the cause for action taking place ie in simple terms, from the date of the breach
If the contract is a contract under seal, ie a specialty contract, action should be commenced within 12 years of the cause for action occurring
OK?
