Are there disadvantages for writing the wrong answer?

While practicing section B questions, I often see my answer slightly differeing with the answer sheet. I am wondering if there is any disadvantage for wrong answer.

Do they reduce your mark when you write something that’s not completely relevant or something that is wrong? For example, if the question request to write one recommendation and if I write three recommendations, would there be any disadvantages?

Or do they just give marks for the right answers and ignore anything irrelevant?
