    Hi Gromit,
I’ve been looking on the ACCA website, and a technical article has been written on how to approach a scenario situation (I’m presuming this is for question 1?) Please see below-

    strategic analysis-
    • Where do we want to go?
    • What constraints exist on our resources?
    • What are the key threats from the external environment?

    Strategic choice –
    • On what basis do we decide to compete?
    • Which direction should we choose?
    • How are we going to achieve the chosen direction?
Then use Suitability, Feasibility and Acceptability test to evaluate the appropriateness

    Strategic implementation-
    • Resource management
    • Organisational structure
    • Management of change

This has been very useful in helping to structure your answer.
My question is this; these three cover parts A.B,C of the syllabus. However, on looking at the above information, it seems to me that your answer could cover all areas of the syllabus e.g. project management, I.T, business and process change etc. Please can you tell me if this is correct? Also could you confirm to me that this is in relation to question 1 of the syllabus, and not the optional parts.

    Many thanks

Subjects like people, project management, change, finance, IT can be regarded as relating to implementation eg we might need a new IT system. They can also relate to resource analysis eg poor HR.

However, don’t start writing about these elements unless it is very clear that you have to.

thanks Gromit. do you agree that, I could use the above technique, to tackle any question 1? (and don’t using anything that is not relevant)

    cheers
