i posted this on my other thread but i think i should start a new topic as its a different topic.
Do you have any suggestions regarding approach to preparation? Like which chapters i should do first followed by which ones?
Any suggestions will be appreciated because im bit confused on which ones to do first but i think i want to do them in their order
i just watched Studio recorded lectures, they were so straight forward.. so i decided to try Live lectures, they are far more interesting as i like to take interest in my studies rather then just doing them for their only purpose.
So i decided to listen to Live ones rather then studio.
i noticed in intro there are 7 main parts in audit.
A- Framework & regulation
B- internal audit.
and so on.
So i want to know which ones are totally covered in Live lectures? the leftover ill do from Studio ones.
i believe Live ones miss alot of stuff.. so ah.. im seriously confused what should i be doing as i want to cover whole syllabus and memorize it then go to past papers.Thank you alot for your time gromit, please suggest 🙂
April 26, 2013 at 4:40 pm #123621Lectures do not necessarily follow the syllabus order or sections because that is not always logical or the best approach. Therefore, the A, B, C analysis doesn’t really work.
I have compared to topic list of the live and studio lectures and these seem to be what are omitted from the live lectures :
Assurance Engagements
Assurance
Auditors’ rights and duties
Appointment resignation and removal
Regulation of auditors
Acceptance procedures
Engagement letters
Fraud
Recording and assessing the accounting system
Assessing internal controls
Typical internal control systems: purchases system
Typical internal control systems: sales system
Typical internal control systems: wages and capital expenditure system
Typical internal control systems: cash system and inventory system
Year end audit: non-current assets
Year end audit: payables and accruals
Year end audit: cash
Events after the reporting period
Contingent assets and liabilities
Management representations
How to write good answers in the F8 ExamThis is a rather crude analysis. If you listen to the live then fill gaps as above with studio you will have covered the important areas. You might cover some in both, but that won’t be a problem: if you recognise a topic you can skip it.
I would not advise you to go for too much memorization before trying past papers. Past papers are very good for embedding what you have read. Besides, most marks are for application of your knowledge, not reproduction of it.

April 26, 2013 at 4:57 pm #123625Thank you, So do you suggest like Completing one section and then attempt questions in past papers related to that section and so on or Watching all these lectures and then go for past papers.
Because i am having trouble finding past papers topically that’s why its getting difficult to use this approach.
are there any resources on opentuition arranging past papers topically?April 26, 2013 at 5:05 pm #123626April 26, 2013 at 5:07 pm #123627Wow thats awesome, thank you so much 🙂
