Ok guys there’s some confusion here – me too!
I got email 12th Feb 2015 confirming my membership application was approved.
In “myAcca”, my application status says Admission to Membership was 13th February 2015 and that correspondance has been posted to me.
Also says my certificate will be sealed at the next meeting in March.Do I have to wait until I receive certificate to use the ACCA letters after my name.
Its not very clear.
@amcterna above:
Some suggestions – try logging in again – your PER status may have had a glitch. Secondly – how long ago did you complete the PER? I may be wrong – but is it time dated?
And finally – there is also an online PER challenge test – have you completed this?
Failing that I would contact ACCA asap and get clarification.
Best of luck.February 16, 2015 at 4:43 pm #228659Thanks for the reply marky123
I have never attempted the challenge question because I thought I had already passed all the essential and 7 options. I am presuming because 7 years ago when I applied for membership I also sent the work details along with confirmation from my previous firm’s accountants.
Does anyone know when they brought in the challenge questions? Also can someone remember how it was in the past?
ACCA has told me they have lost my original joining paperwork, so cannot confirm what was originally sent. I suspect it is not a case of being time dated, as it has only been reset after I applied for membership.

@amcterna you will need to re do the PER to get your membership. I had completed my PER in 2011 too and was surprised when I got an email that I should re-do it. I also noticed now that there is a minimum number of words that must be written in your answers to the challenge questions. This was not the case before, now you have to write between 100 to 500 word answers to all the challenge questions before you can submit it to your mentor for review. So I guess, may be the one you submitted did not meet the word count and not detailed enough. The reason they gave for requesting another per from me was because my answers were not detailed enough. At this point, you have no choice than to figure out how you would get it done. All the best.
February 19, 2015 at 9:51 am #229161Thanks adeyemi83 I have tried reasoning with them to no avail.
Apparently the system was changed to challenge questions in 2009 two years after I joined and they moved it to online only in 2013.
In theory the original application I used when I joined in 2007 should have worked. However, they appear to have lost my original application and so cannot confirm. They cannot even look back to last week to see that I had the objectives signed off on my status report.
They did say that if I had printed out a copy of my status report showing objectives met, then they may reconsider. But I had not printed it out as I had no reason to.
So I’ve spent the last couple of days filling in my 3900 minimum words to complete the objectives. I managed to convince an Accountant in our head office in the US to sign off and now it is being looked at by the admissions team and I’m expecting a call in the next couple of hours.

I was admitted as a member on 13 March according to the members’ directory and my profile under myacca reflects that I am a member but nothing from ACCA yet, no welcome package or certificate. I am based in Botswana by the way.

April 29, 2015 at 10:13 am #243215Hi guys
I currently have 4 option papers to complete. I hAve had 26 months of relevant work experience at 2 different organisations. I have achieved a few objectives at one firm and other objectives at the other firm. How does it work? One of my bosses has also moved out of the countryMay 6, 2015 at 3:03 pm #244357Hi, Just about to complete membership application and looking for some advice.
I work in practice and so I need to attach my current job role. Did anyone else have to do this? My employer is not an ACCA approved employer, so I am worried this may hold up my membership?
Just out of curiosity, Does any know when the next acca committee meeting is going to be held?

Your employer does not have to be an ACCA approved employer to complete the PER performance objectives. Your PER needs to be signed by your immediate supervisor who is a qualified accountant (not necessarily ACCA). Since you work in a practice, this should not be a problem.
I never attached my current job role and my employer is not ACCA approved, but my I completed my PER and was admitted as a member.
I dont know when the next committee meeting will be held though.

I achieved the PER objectives between 2008 and the last couple in Jan 2013. They all still show as achieved. I did them all online with challenge questions because, when I needed them, I couldn’t find the few I had done on paper with mentor signatures 🙁

I applied for membership this week and was told that my optional objectives were not completed even though they show as “achieved” on my status report and the PER website. I had done these in 2008/09. I was able to send printouts of both and they said that didn’t prove anything. Very frustrating that I thought I was good to go – if there was a problem I would have dealt with it earlier.
The membership process is supposed to be automatic if you have completed everything – if I had waited, I would not have known there was a problem, so I suggest anyone else in my position applies online rather than waiting.
August 25, 2015 at 11:25 pm #268532Hi everyone,
I found this post very interesting & my situation is as follows.
I am an ACCA Affiliate & working on my PER, I have not been able to pay my ACCA subscription for last few years & have not been to my ACCA to update the PER.
However, now I am ready to reinstate as an ACCA affiliate member & start recording my PER, which I have achieved during past 4 years. I also have a qualified CPA,CGA here in Canada, who can sign my PER.
Can someone please guide me on the right track ? to a membership, please ?
I still have to complete my Prof. Ethics Module after getting re-activeted on my ACCA website.
Any insights & responses will be much appreciated.
Do you think it will be a problem as I quit paying for ACCA dues since 2012 ?
What else should I be aware of before finally applying for the ACCA Membership, please ?
Thanks guys,
AP
September 7, 2015 at 5:55 pm #270262Guys kindlly help me..whats d meaning of graduate pending member ??do i have to pay the full fees of 205pounds to be admitted to membership??or pay lesss since i v already paid my 2015 subscription??
September 9, 2015 at 11:06 am #270720No – you don’t have to pay £205. You have to pay £211 and your 2015 subscription was for being a student, this isn’t a subscription its a membership joining fee.
As per the email ACCA would have sent you, graduate pending member means you have been accepted as a member however it won’t be officially confirmed until the ACCA committee meeting next week.
Hope this helps
October 12, 2015 at 7:54 pm #276077Will we get the transcript too along with our membership certificate?
