Working at an audit firm would be considered public practise per ACCA, even if it is in a jurisdiction outside the UK, right? So long as such work related to general audit work being done by the firm (I.e Not just being the payroll officer at an audit firm)?I always took it to mean you were senior enough to be signing off on the audit report, not just contributing to an element of it.
I think that’s something worth creating a separate thread for as it’s not linked to the initial membership application process.
I don’t think jurisdiction matters as pretty much all large audit companies are groups of partnerships with the specific company operating in its home market.

Actually it is related as you will need to indicate if you work in public practice while completing your membership application. This might require you to send in additional support documentation, as I have recently done.
I agree with you though, should really only apply to partners or members of LLPs and those actually signing reports. But the definition as is, is quite broad, so I erred on the side of caution.
February 13, 2017 at 9:41 am #372181Does any one know how long it takes for the certificate to reach you upon being declared a member?

February 13, 2017 at 2:47 pm #372240My application has been approved and I am now Graduate pending member. Which I believe means that I have to wait for the next committee meeting a week on Friday to be an official member. However, I’ve noticed that my certificates are no longer available to download or view, has this happened to anyone else?
February 13, 2017 at 2:51 pm #372241The email I received said the next meeting is 11th March where certificates will be sealed but it also said it can take up to 12 weeks from this date for certificates to be delivered.
February 13, 2017 at 3:42 pm #372254Nope, I m a member and I still see all my certificates

Seems there must have been an ACCA members committee meeting today. Profile now updated to reflect member status with admission date today.
Finally, but still at least another 2 months till I receive my certificate and and welcome pack.

March 13, 2017 at 1:55 pm #378033Hi there
I submit my online membership via my acca on 8 march 2017.
i did not get any confirmation from ACCA of membership so i called ACCA head office and ask for my application progress and they said we dont see any membership application we received from your side, you should reapply it manually. but when i logged in to my acca and goto track my membership application it says that we received the application on 8 march. i dont know what to do.
i should wait some more or reapply manually?Your help will be appreciated.
March 13, 2017 at 1:58 pm #378034Did you get any confirmation mail from ACCA?
How did you apply manually or online via myacca?March 24, 2017 at 9:50 pm #379161Has anyone received a certificate from the 11th March ACCA meeting?
A friend studying CAT has theirs and it was dated the 11th.
March 27, 2017 at 6:25 am #379334I’m waiting for my ACCA certificate, but haven’t received it so far.
Are the certificates posted to one’s mailing address, or will be there some sort of ceremony where we can get it? Or it depends on where you are located?

Exactly same happened with me.i m still not sure what to do?
April 20, 2017 at 11:12 am #382818I applied for membership on the 17th of April and just received confirmation that my membership has been approved.
The council will sit on the 17 of June 2017 and that would be the date that the certificate will be sealed.
It took three days for me to get approval. That was fast. So happy

Just picked up my acca certificate today at my local acca office. It has been available since late last week. Contained the certificate, a booklet/handbook and a lapel pin, but no pen.

I was just transferred to member, and I can also search for my name on ACCA’s website “Find an accountant” section. The last communication I received from ACCA was on 24th, stating that they approved my membership application and it will be reflected on myacca on 10 working days. Graduate pending member status turned to Member yesterday. I guess we will receive the certificate in July, as the committee sealing the certificates will meet in late June.I guess I can start using the initials ACCA after my name, is it correct? So don’t need to wait for the actual certificate to arrive, having a status of Member in myacca, and being searchable in the ACCA member’s directory is enough? I am out of business cards now, want to order some next week, and I’m not sure whether I can use ACCA already.
Yes you can use the letters ACCA as soon as it says member in MyACCA.
