Hi Ken,
Is it acceptable for Q1 to start with your workings on a blank page and then start your report referencing the appendix where applicable?
Also, do you advise making notes as you read through the scenario and then crossing them out before proceeding?

Yes. It is ok to have the appendix/workings at the front of your answer, with the report ‘starting’ after that. ACCA know that you can’t insert pages into the appropriate place in your report.
