Is any one here pursuing diploma in IFRS? What materials are you using and what is your study strategy? Do you need to read each and every page of study material?

    hey Cpaifrs ,

i did one last year. Passed from first attempt.
you absolutely do not need to read every page!
You might study IFRS by heart ..all of them and you will never pass exam this way. IT’s a huge huge subject , which requires years to study and work experience. So study from the book won’t get u a pass.
For a pass in this exam you need to practice. You need to get used to how IFRS are examined in this exam ..how examiner wants answers to be presented.
Yes of course u need to have a book to grab some knowledge. But practice is vital. So get yourself a decent revision kit.
For DipIFR i strongly recommend you revision kit of ATC.
Actaully there are two main publishers : BPP and ATC.
    i used both.
But i loved ATC’s kit way more.
However i don’t recommend u ATC’s book. I would say combination of BPP’s book and ATC’s kit will work quite well ! 🙂

And one small advice ..learn consolidation as much as you only can..practice all the questions available !
It’s the first and longest question which will bring u more marks then the rest 🙂

Thanks for your reply. I have purchased ATC materials and was over whelmed by the study system(book). By ATC revision kit do you mean the study question bank which contains questions and solutions? So do you think I should start with reviewing lectures and then jump straight to study question bank and refer to study system(book) as and when needed?

Indeed ATC book is not so good unfortunately.
BPP’s one is also too detailed , but a bit easier to swallow.

By revision kit i meant Revision Question Bank .
Study qiuestions bank goes together with the study text. And revision question bank is a different book!

And yes, the way of study that u mention , will be the best. It will be hard of course. But with time you will get used. Just revise regularly.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Are you referring to the study question bank with questions and answers. I saw this 140 page material in my package and it has 49 questions along with solutions. Is mastering these questions and answers sufficient to pass? How many hours/days did you put in while preparing? Did you have prior IFRS knowledge? Thanks again.
