Hi Mike,
I just have a small doubt. For questions that start with ” You are an Audit manager…” and so on, can we answer the question in first person? Or should it be in third person?
The examiner appears to like 1st person singular (ie I would do this and I would do that)
Personally that style reminds me of my days at primary school where teacher (Mrs Wood) would tell us that we were to imagine that we were a penny and she would ask us to write about “A day in my life as a penny”
My belief is that this is a professional examination and the language used should be appropriate
You can always get round the problem by changing the subject of the sentence
Instead of “I would review the minutes of the directors’ board meetings” you could write “The minutes of the directors’ board meetings should be reviewed”
1st person singular is, in my humble opinion (IMHO), a terribly immature style … but who am I to criticise?
got it thanks
You’re welcome
