My Concern is that I wanted to know regarding the writing styles for F8 paper , that in what manner should the answer be composed. Should there be paragraphs and no bullet points or should there be headings?

    Regards

The main thing is to keep each separate point in a separate paragraph.

Bullet points, as such, are not a problem but they are often followed by only one or two words, and that isn’t enough to explain or describe adequately. If you have to identify and explain, the most common marking scheme is 1/2 for identify and 1 for explain, but explain takes one or two sentences.

Have headings only when really needed. So, if you had to write two procedures for each for gathering evidence about the assertions of valuation and existence of non-current assets, then your answer should be:

    Valuation:

Reperform the depreciation calculations for a sample of 20 non-current assets to ensure that these have been carried out correctly.

Examine management’s review of impairment of non-current assets to ensure that it appears to be comprensive.

    Existence:

Inspect 20 assets selected from the non-current asset register to ensure that they exist.

Trace 10 additions to non-current assets to the appropriate purchase invoice.
