I had a doubt on how to answer questions in P3. When we are told to use a particular model, like Porter’s diamond e.g. June 2010, then obviously we need to apply this model to the story in the question; however, what my doubt is whether we can straight away apply this model to the story in the question or before applying we need to explain the model and it’s constituent parts, like we need to explain all the four parts of the diamond and then apply. Are they any marks awarded for explanation of the models? Is it necessary explaining them or can be go about straight away applying them?
Time will be a big issue in P3 so I wouldn’t like to explain the models, just straight away apply them so would this be okay?
Also does the examiner like follow patterns like other examiners. E.g. if he bought about topics in June 2014 (e.g. TOWS matrix that came up) can we safely assume that anything that came up in June 2014 can be ignored in our study for the P3 Dec 2014 exam as it’s the exam that follows the June sitting? This used to work in F8 so just curious to know if it’s the same in P3.

Your second questoin is essentially about question spotting. Don’t do it, particularly in P3 where the questions are quite large and often integrate bits of the syllabus.
