Sir i cant quite get the relation between ansoff matrix and tow matrix relatdd to strategic direction and strategic choices strategies like porters generic strategies, value chain etc , whats the difference between strategic choices and direction , and then are these both part of stratigic options

Your strategic options are all the things you could do, such as opening abroad or developing a new product. Your strategic choice is which of the options you decide to do (= strategic direction).
July 23, 2016 at 4:28 pm #328530Thanks Sir Ken, so i get what strategic direction is but how can strategies me broadly categorized in p3, is it fair to divide them in development, competitive and growth strategies? and naturally different models for each for example for competitve there are porter generic and for growth their is ansoff
July 24, 2016 at 1:01 pm #328619I don’t think it is fruitful to divide up a strategy into different sections. I don’t know what the difference is in a development and growth strategy.
In the exam, they just want you to analyse what’s happening and to suggest ways forward. The examiner is not particularly in the philosophical issues surrounding different elements of strategies.
