will the gross pension contributions will increase the basic and higher limit band same as the gross gift payments?reference to the question number 2 in finance act 2018 they have increased the band for both gross pension as well as gross gift

Have you worked through the OT notes and lectures that cover this issue?
If so you should be aware that the band limits are extended by the gross amount of PERSONAL pension contributions
