Would applying trend analysis to the wages figure in the financial statements for the twelve month period be a suitable analytical procedure for a large organization? Could you please give some more examples of analytical procedures applied to the wages figure

Yes, compare to last yr. Also see if inflation and numbers employed predict wages reasonably. Some work with tax rates should be possible to as should comparison to budgets.
