Do we need to provide full calculation for ratios in appendix or can we just do the math in calculator and write the % rather then full figures.
I understand marks are usually capped to 6 or 7 for calculations.
Just dont want to lose these marks but at the same time dont want to spend too much time on calculations. Its quick to write 11.4% as appose to 890/7800 x 100 = 11.4%.
This could probably save 3 or 4 min which is very ‘Material’ on exam day.
Write the workings out – if you make a mistake on your calculator but you have all the figures correct you lose potentially 3 or 4 marks whereas if you had written out the figures correctly yet made a calculation error (pressed #8 instead of #9 for example) you would probably lose NO marks
And writing out the basis of calculations is certainly NOT going to take 3 or 4 minutes!
Try it – take 4 formulae and write them out. It will, I guarantee, not take 3 minutes!
OK?
