I’ve just received the following email from ACCA….
Following the release of results for the December 2014 exam session we have identified an error in the calculation of your original mark for Paper P2 – INT.
The mark you achieved in this paper was 52% and not 50% as originally stated on the notification issued to you on 8 February. The revised mark still represents a pass but we believe it is important that you now receive the correct mark for the paper.
A revised result notification will be issued to you shortly and your exam options for the June 2015 and December 2015 exam sessions remain unchanged.
I would like to assure you that we have a large number of safeguards and checks built into the marking procedure and the processing of exam results to ensure that the final results issued to candidates are correct. Nevertheless we are extremely concerned that this situation should have occurred and will be taking any measures we can to ensure that this cannot happen again in the future.
Please accept my apologies once again for any inconvenience caused by this error.
If you have any additional queries regarding this matter then please contact the Examinations Department on: examsoperationsservices@accaglobal.com
Whilst I’m pleased to get an extra couple of marks, I find it really unsettling that I was given the wrong mark in the first place. Anyone else get a similar email or is it just me? I’m really hoping that someone who was given a pass hasn’t been told that they have in fact failed.
February 19, 2015 at 8:26 pm #229241I just got one too.
My P6 mark got bumped from 54 to 55% as I became affiliated nearly had a heart attack opening!
February 19, 2015 at 8:39 pm #229243I have just had the best news ever on paper F5 and my 48% has been adjusted to 50% so no retake for me, thank goodness, so so relieved ????????????

I also got the same message for my P6 exam ? My mark has been amended from 50% to 51 % ? My heart sunk when I saw the email, as I was terrified it may have been marked down ! This is very worrying and I think people really deserve an explanation from the ACCA!
February 20, 2015 at 9:58 pm #229429I felt the same when I got the same email about my F9 and P1 paper. They have both been increased by 1%.
Just wondering which exam centre did you sit your exams at. I was at Nottingham.
February 20, 2015 at 10:05 pm #229432This is very strange. I could maybe understand it if it was just happening for one exam, but it seems very widespread. I took my exam in Newcastle so there seems no logic to it. I would really like to know how this has come about.
February 21, 2015 at 10:09 pm #229559Just registered to post that my P2 result went up by 2 as well. Exam sat at Newcastle but I dont think that’s too relevant.
The ACCA said it was a technical issue affecting a small number of students, not specific to one paper.
I think they need to explain what the technical issue was, so far everyone has had their mark increased and it seems there is a standard “per paper” increase, which for P2 is 2.

I also sat my exams in Nottingham ???? I have a friend too, who sat papers F5 and F6 in Nottingham, and both of their marks were increased by 2% !
To make it worse, the email I was sent stated an amendment to just P6, however when I logged onto my ACCA account, P2 had also been increased by 1% ?Its strange that this seems to have happened over a wide range of papers, and makes it more difficult to understand the
technical issue
. I only have P4 to do, but now if I’m lucky enough to pass, I feel as though I shouldn’t celebrate for at least two weeks !March 21, 2015 at 1:29 pm #233547Mine was also amended and I took my exam in Nottingham. Reason for the increases apparently was due to how cold the hall was and the noise level at the centre that week.
March 21, 2015 at 1:43 pm #233548Someone mentioned temperature as the explanation for newcastle results being changed too. It can’t be right as not everyone who did P2 at Newcastle that day got the extra marks. It also wasn’t any colder than previous December exams.
