Hi,
This may be a weird question but when making an allowance for wastage, e.g 20% material lost through process, why is it calculated as $20 cost x 100/80 = 25…and not $20 x 1.20 = 24?
Suppose you were to input 100, then the waste would be 20% x 100 = 20, and the output would be 100 – 20 = 80.
So for every 80 of output then the input would be 100.
So the input will be 100/80 x the output.
ok Thank you…
You are welcome 🙂
