Hi there,
I finish my ACCA exams this December and I’m thinking about doing a degree by distance learning at Uni.
Does anyone here know if being ACCA qualified can give you exemptions from university modules/exams? I really do not want to start at the very beginning when my ACCA qualification should already demonstrate my ability. I have emailed the university in question, so this is just a query to you guys to see if anyone else has heard of this happening?
Thanks!

If it is something else you may have to start from scratch especially if it is not accounting related. Each university treats the ACCA examinations in different ways, for example, the main university here where I live told me that if I wanted to do my masters in accounting I would have to start from scratch as they give no credit for ACCA.

It mostly depends on the univeristy you are applying and the program you are applying for.
In general, you cannot skip module of masters and attain a degree. Even even some univeristy allow you minor exemption (a paper or two) they will ensure that you are completing your masters in a minimum one year time frame.
Also, the rating of the university counts. Check out the global and regional rakings for distant learning before applying.
Personally, some of the university I applied to did not accept my ACCA as bachelors equivalent. They didnot consider it to be a degree. Some might, but apart from Oxford Brookes I have not seen any university accepting ACCA as an entry requirements.
Good Luck with your search.
