Hi! So.. i’m exempted from F1,2&3..
I attempted F4 and F5 in June 2014 but failed. I solved all the past papers twice and I feel like I know the concepts but I dont know what is going wrong here.
Im planninh to resit F4 and F5 this dec 2014. Should I take F6 with it or not? I feel like it’d be difficult for me to take all three. Please advice.August 9, 2014 at 7:05 am #188781I agree with you – I think you would be safer just retaking F5 and F5.
F6 is a difficult exam and so why risk spoiling your chances of passing F4 and F5 in December.August 9, 2014 at 10:09 am #188855Thank you so much!! 🙂

August 18, 2014 at 7:34 pm #191374Im planing to give 4 papers . Should I I have appeared twice in f5.f6 .i have also done f9 n f4 in 2012 in dec . What should I do .
August 18, 2014 at 10:14 pm #191395I am sorry, but I am not sure that I understand you. “should I have appeared twice in f5,f6” does not really make sense.
I am not clear which papers you have already taken. I also think that it is very dangerous to take 4 papers in the same sitting unless you are studying full-time. These papers are university level and that is why most people only take 2 papers at each sitting – there is a huge amount of studying necessary for each paper.
August 21, 2014 at 9:34 am #191754Hi.
Im going for f5.f6 and f9 in December . I have studied these papers in dece 2012 n also appeared in exams that year . How I should studyAugust 21, 2014 at 9:43 am #191757Everyone has different methods of studying – what works best for some people is different from what works best for others!
There have been syllabus changes for all three of these papers since 2012, and also the format of Papers F5 and F9 will be different in December 2014 – there will be a section containing multiple choice questions.
For these reasons, you do need to get new books – especially Revision/Exam Kits.
You should go through all of the lectures on here (using our Course Notes that go with them) and thoroughly revise what you studied before.
When you are confident that you understand everything, then most important of all is to practice question after question. This is why it is so vital that you have up-to-date Revision/Exam Kits, because they contain lots of exam-standard questions to practice on.If there are any areas on which you are not clear then you should ask in the relevant Ask the Tutor Forum and we will try and help you.
Finally, you should consider whether you really do have the time to study for three papers. Taking three papers at one sitting does mean a lot of work and there is no point unless you really do have the time available.
August 21, 2014 at 11:08 am #191762Im going to take f4.f5.f6 n .f9 in dece 2014 . This is my seccond attempt for ( f4 n f9) and third attempt for ( f5 n f6 ) . I il do f4 cbe . Advice me
September 22, 2014 at 4:04 pm #195931I started to study F5 and still on limiting factors but want very much to pass it. Also I heard we can take F4 as CBE after December so I am thinking to start studying it after December. I will appreciate if you advise me if I have enough time to study F6 and sit the exam in December as I haven’t started it . As there is limited time left to book the exam for F6 I kindly ask you to advise me on this matter. I work full time shifts so I can afford to study only 3 full days a week.
Thanks in advanceSeptember 22, 2014 at 5:12 pm #195941Hi Armine
If I understand you correctly, you are already intending to study for F4 and F5.
If so, then I would leave it at those two and leave F6 until next June.
It is for two reasons. Partly, they are hard exams (they are full university degree level) and so you do need to study hard.
The other reason is that the ‘rules’ for F6 change every year (it is tax) and so it is best to take the exam in June because if things do go wrong and you fail, then it is the same ‘rules’ for the December exam.September 22, 2014 at 5:20 pm #195944Thank you very much for your advice

October 2, 2014 at 12:34 pm #203255Great advice on the F5 sitting there John and comments in respect of tax changes. Hadn’t considered that and by good fortune I am planning on taking f6 next June. A stroke of genius Mr Moffat!
October 4, 2014 at 10:32 am #203462Hie,
I registered for F4 & F5 for the December 2014 sitting and have started reading this October,is there enough time left for me to complete the syllabus.
October 4, 2014 at 1:49 pm #203478Certainly, provided you are studying hard and watching all the free lecture here (together with the course notes that go with them).
