I would like to ask people have have passed the RAP that did they make any silly mistake in their RAP and realized it only after
submitting it ? mistakes like spelling and labeling the tables incorrectly?
Actually I have made a silly mistake by labeling the Asset Turnover calculation table with Payables turnover. As both
of the tables were on the same page I mixed both of them. The explanation under the Asset turnover was of payables turnover and vice versa.
Now I was wondering that would this mistake result in my automatic failure or do i stand a chance?

    Hi fahd88

I haven’t passed yet – hoping to in March as submitted my RAP in November 2012. So doubt I can offer you too much comfort but I would be astounded if they failed your entire RAP for one minor error.

I’ve seen several extracts from examiners comments for failed RAPS and they all seem to have a similar theme which is the systematic failure to do something. For example continuously getting the referencing wrong or stating ratios year on year but complete failure to state the reasons why a ratio has moved.

I’ve never seen anyone fail a RAP for a simple table labeling error – that would be incredibly harsh.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

    Hi fahd88,
I haven’t passed yet as i am also awaiting the result in march. But i can confirm that a friend of mine passed in september 2012 also made mistake especially spelling errors and incorrect grammars that are minimal. I think you will only be failed if the errors are much (pervasive) compare to the entire project.

Hi all, I passed the RAP in Sept 2012.
I never printed the soft copy out until after submission and had done all editing on a laptop.
Click Submit….. What! A whole paragraph in chapter 3 is not understandable. An important chapter….

    Anyways… I came out with a C. And I still had a 2.1.

Few errors are pardonable, Consistent errors… Not allowed.

    Best of luck.

It depends on your examiner and his judgement. I came across a Malaysian mentor’s website where he says that same rap submitted to different mentor would bring different result.
